Terms of use
The Kom Old Testament is still being translated. You are welcome to read it, share it and test it. These are the few things we ask in return.

In short
- No book here is a final edition. Every one is a testing text and may still change.
- Read, download and share freely. Quote up to 500 verses, with credit.
- Ask first before printing, selling, or copying a whole book or the text into another app.
- If something reads wrong, tell the translators. That is what the testing is for.
This is a testing text
No book on this site has been officially released. That includes the books the team reports as complete. Everything here is put online so that Kom people can read it, use it and tell the translators where it is unclear or wrong.
The wording, spelling and verse numbers may change without notice. The PDFs and the Android app are testing copies too.
If you find a mistake, or a verse that does not sound like Kom, please write to the team. Say the book, chapter and verse, and what you would expect it to say.
Who owns the text
The Kom translation is copyright © Kom Churches. All rights are reserved, except for what these terms allow.
The typeface, Charis SIL, is used under its own licence, the SIL Open Font License.
What you may do without asking
- Read the text here, and download the PDFs and app for your own use.
- Share links to any page, in any group, as often as you like.
- Quote up to 500 verses, written, printed, spoken or on a screen, as long as you do not quote a whole book, the verses make up less than a quarter of the work you put them in, and you do not change the words.
The same freedom covers a sermon, a Sunday school lesson, a literacy class handout, a church bulletin, an order of service, a slide shown in church, and a post on WhatsApp or Facebook.
How to give credit
In a book, booklet, article, website or recording, print this notice on the copyright page or near the quotations:

In church use and on social media, the full notice is not needed. Put the reference and (Kom, testing text) after each quotation, for example:

What needs written permission
Ask us in writing before you:
- quote more than 500 verses, a whole book, or a quarter or more of your own work;
- print or copy the text for others, or sell anything that contains it;
- put the text into another app, website, Bible software, database or collection, or use it to train or test software, including AI;
- record whole chapters or books as audio or video to share.
Whatever you do with the text, do not change the words and still call it the Kom translation, and do not present it as a final or official edition.
Using this website
The site is free and has no accounts. We do our best to keep it working and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be online or free of errors. We may change or remove pages at any time.
Some links take you to other websites, such as Facebook, Google Maps and our partners. We do not run those sites and are not responsible for them.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using this site or from relying on a testing text.
Changes and questions
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. The laws of Cameroon apply to them.
